In the previous newsletter we discussed the benefits of Hepar Sulphur Calcarea for sore throats. But there are different types of sore throat problems. Each individual has a unique way of experiencing their symptoms, and in homeopathy different expressions of sore throat require different remedies.

Another very important remedy for sore throat problems is Mercurius Solubulis. Taken every few hours in the 30c potency, this remedy may alleviate symptoms when there is a sensation of rawness in the throat which is often accompanied by swollen cervical (neck) glands. The throat may look dusky or dark red. There may also be white dots on the tonsils. There is a persistent desire to swallow which does not relieve. Pain often extends to the ears upon swallowing. Either a sore, raw, smarting or burning sensation in the throat. May also be accompanied by hoarseness or a loss of voice. A lot of debility, sweating and fever.
